Take your time, slow down, unwind, and savour this leisurely, slow-adventure experience by bike to connect with nature.As you approach Acres Lake Floating Boardwalk you will disembark your bike and be encouraged to take a moment tophotograph this unique lake feature. You may spot nesting swans or a family of Mallard Ducks. Depending on the season, you’ll encounter a breathtaking display of lily pads, prompting you to ponder the hidden world below.
Inspired by the illusive Jackalope, this is your opportunity to embark on a uniquely personal guided bike cycle along the Shannon Blueway with local legend Seamus Gibbons, former lockkeeper and Jackalope extraordinaire.Seamus guides you along the captivating Shannon Blueway and unveils the story of the illusive Jackalope.Complete your adventure with an exclusive group tour of The Shed Distillery, the esteemed home of Gunpowder Gin.
General Information
- This is an adult only guided cycle with guided distillery tour.
- We will make every effort to accommodate for delays and it is advisable to ring ahead if you have an unexpected delay in arrival. However, we cannot offer a refund.
- Electric Bike Trails opens in the rain! So please check the weather in advance to avail of our 48-hour cancellation/reschedule policy.
- All participants must have waiver signed
- Electric Bikes are for adults only (over 16's) and must be 5ft 2" in order to fit on bikes safely.
- Clothing: No flip-flop sandals or high heels please for your own safety.
- Helmets will be provided and it is very much encouraged that all cyclists wear them.
- Please ensure ALL participants in your group are aware of our policies and guidelines by forwarding this email to them, or referring them to our website.
Arrive at Electric Bike Trails at least 1 and half hours before your Shed Distillery Tour. This way you get enough time to take a leisurely guided cycle.
Arrive and collect your bike at Electric Bike Trails, where you’ll receive a warm welcome from Seamus and Eileen. We will set the scene for a wonderfully relaxing Slow Adventure experience with a guided cycle from Electric Bike Trails in Leitrim Village to The Shed Distillery. We begin the tour by sharing experiences of the 2023 tornado that swept across our village. With helmet and bike allocated to each person in your group, Seamus will lead the way and take you on a captivating journey with tales of the area’s vibrant history and heritage, natural wonders, and diverse flora and fauna. Keep your eyes open for any hints of the elusive Jackalope!
Pedalling your way to The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, park up and begin the next part of your adventure exploring the curious mind of PJ Rigney and where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Seamus will guide you to the visitor centre, where you will check in to tour this award winning distillery. Here, you will meet your tour ambassador and learn about PJ Rigney’s incredible journey to develop his celebrated Gun Powder Gin and Drumshanbo Single Pot Sill Irish Whiskey.
On completion of your distillery tour, savor a refreshing drink at the Honey Badger Bar, marvel at someincredible cocktail-making by top cocktail makers, discover fascinating items at the Curious Gift Shop, and ifyou’re lucky, catch one final glimpse of the elusive Jackalope before saying goodbye to this captivating andenchanting place.Return to Electric Bike Trails on your bicycle along the same route as you travelled or arrange a pick up ofyour bike at The Shed Distillery, (at no extra cost), you decide.

Suitable shoes and clothing
E Bike or regular bike, helmet, bike lock, ticket to Shed distillery tour, whiskey tasting and cocktail in Honey Badger Bar. If requested bike collection from The Shed Distillery.
If getting your bike collected from The Shed Distillery you are responsible for your own transport thereafter.

From Dublin or Sligo: Take N4 to Carrick on Shannon, take R280 to Leitrim Village ( 6km from Carrick on Shannon).Only a 45 min drive from Ireland West Airport, 2 hours from Dublin International Airport, 2.5 hours from Belfast International Airport. There is also Train and Bus Services form Dublin to Carrick on Shannon daily.

YOUR VOUCHER AND DEPARTURE POINT Please present your voucher 10 minutes before departure to the staff at departure point of your tour. The location of the departure point can be found in the description of the tour and is stated on your booking confirmation. We can not be held responsible for clients showing up late for their tours.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation more than a week in advance : 15% administration fee, Cancellation between a week and 48 hours prior to departure date: 50% of the total amount plus administration fees that might be imposed. Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to departure date and time or no-show : No refund. We will offer a re-booking alternative to the above at any stage up to 12 hours before time of booking, subject ot availability.
